Shabehu El (Praise God)

Author: Shalom Khafif. The lahan consists of eight musical units; every two units correspond to a verse. The first unit of each pair is sung by the solo singer in a melismatic musical progression, while the second constitutes the congregation's response; this unit is shorter, and less free and melismatic. In this recording only strophes 1, 5, and 6 are performed. Melodic structure: a-b-a-b-a-b-a-c.
