From Yiddish: Rachel Cordikhi. Composed in 1960. This poem was written by Shike Driz one night when under the influence of Leibu Levin's performance of "Khotsh" ("Although") by Zelik Barditshever. He dedicated the poem to L. Levin who subsequently created a melody for it that was a variation of the original Barditshever's folk tune.
