5. Two Letters from Velvl Zbarzher to Malkele the Beautiful

From Yiddish: Hadassah Haskale and Itzik Nakhmen Gottesman. Both melodeclamations were composed in 1936. The first song was first published in the collection "Leibu Levin: Word and Melody" (Tel Aviv: L.L.Peretz publications, 2005). Recorded by Kol Israel during Leibu Levin's last concert on 27.12.1981 at the Tzavta auditorium in Jerusalem. Piano: Svetalana Ainbinder, Velvl Ehrenkrantz (1819-1883) - Yiddish and Hebrew poet and a bard. Called Zbarzher after his birthplace, the town Zbarazh in Galicia.
