Haim Effendi


A piyyut by Abraham Ibn Ezra (ca.1090-ca.1164) that serves in the Sephardi rite as the opening of the evening service of Yom Kippur, right before Kol nidrei. Haim sings the traditional Eastern Sephardi melody of this piyyut, a variant of which is also used for the copla Noche de Alḥad (Al Dio alto) (see below, CD 3, no. 6).
