Yuval is the flagship publication of the Jewish Music Research Center (JMRC) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Appearing since 1968, three years after the foundation of the JMRC, it consisted of substantial volumes featuring articles prepared by the scholars associated with the JMRC as well as guest writers invited by the editors. Its progenies, Yuval Monographs and Yuval Music followed it; both series offer alternative formats for the publication of both historical studies and ethnographical fieldworks.
Yuval is a scientific peer-reviewed journal devoted to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge concerning Jewish musics and related academic disciplines. An open access journal published 3-5 articles per year (articles are uploaded immediately upon their final acceptance). While the back issues feature articles in Englis, French, German, and Hebrew, we currently consider articles in either Hebrew or English.
