Leo Kestenberg was born in Rózsahegy, Hungary. He developed the "Kestenberg Reform," in musical education in Germany. In 1938 Kestenberg arrived to Palestine where he became the general manager of the Palestine Orchestra (later the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra), and later founded the Music Teachers' Training College in Tel Aviv.
