O God of spirits, deliver us! / You, who search our hearts, make us prosper! / Mighty Redeemer, answer us on the day we call.

The main text sung or recited during the haqqafot on Simhat Torah, one stanza per haqqafah, is an alphabetical acrostic. In most Hasidic congregations, the stanzas are sung to a recitative-like chant in direct continuation of the opening words, "Ana adonay hoshi'ah na" (or, in Ashkenazic pronunciation, "Ono adoynoy hoyshi'oh no," = "Please, Lord, deliver us!"), and to the same melody. Bobov Hasidim sing the stanzas in a kind of cumulative sequence, that is, the first stanza during the first haqqafah (as usual), the first and second stanzas in the second haqqafah, and so on.

Bobov Hasidim open each haqqafah with a special niggun, singing each consecutive stanza to a different niggun. Thus, they sing two niggunim in the second haqqafah, three in the third, and so on. They inherited this practice, as well as other niggunim, from the Dzhykev dynasty. In this recording, the singer sings the first stanza, which "belongs" to the first haqqafah, together with one of the aforementioned niggunim. This is also one of the four "nanuyim" tunes sung during the Hallel prayer on the Sukkot festival to the words "Hodu ladonay ki tov" and "Ana adonay hoshi'ah na" while the Four Species are being shaken.
