Avraham Weingarten,Jerusalem, 14 January 1967.

A well-known rejoicing tune composed by the Gur "court composer," R. Yaakov Talmud (1883-1963; see Malhin le-veit Gur, p. 47). It is one of a group of rejoicing and dance tunes composed by Talmud, which became so familiar among Hasidim of different communities that their origin was forgotten. Some informants, including Weingarten, attribute the niggun to the Modzhitz Hasidim.
