(7a) This wedding song is about the choosing of a husband and what characteristics and qualities he should have: he should be well known and respected (v.6-7); he should have a good trade, such as carpentry (v.8-9), so that he can repair the bride's dowry chest (v.11-12) which has a golden key and silver cover (v.13-14).

(7b) A variant of the preceding wedding song. A description of the bride's bed is added (v.1-4), and the groom, in this case her cousin (v.8-9), compares her to a fine rose (v.10-11).
