Yehuda Venezia (Jaffa)
Alegre m'alegre (Juego de callarse)
A children’s game in which, after this rhyme is completed, the first one who speaks loses the game. Here is a translation of the rhyme: “The merry one goes to buy oil, the vessel broke; going to bring olives, the plate broke; going to bring chickpeas and jaminados (eggs cooked throughout the Sabbath, from the Hebrew, hamin). Under the steps there is a kettle full of disgusting matters.” This last line hints at the punishment for whoever speaks first.
