Yemotai qalu (My days were light)

Author: Israel Najara. The lahan consists of four musical units, corresponding to the four verses of each of the twelve strophes. The maqam is, in fact, Husseyni, since the melodic motifs are characteristic of this maqam, but it is also related to the high register of maqam Bayyat. The structure of the coda is characteristic of maqam Ajam (la-sol-fa), and this links the coda with the next petiha, which begins in this maqam. Melodic structure: a-a'-b-c.
