De día en día (Me dice la gente)

De día en día

Bienvenida Aguado-Mushabak (Çanakkale)

Four strophes with a refrain that says, “I with you, my bride (literally, my lady), we will talk together. I with you, bride, we will rejoice together.” The strophes share a similar structure. First strophe: “From day to day you cheat on me, people are telling me that you are mocking me; will a day come when you will be at my side?” Second strophe: “People tell me you are small, but your fortune is high and rich; will a day come when I will see you alone? I could not sleep the whole night; will a day come when I will see you with a veil?” Third strophe: “You are tall, my lady, tall as a pine tree, you shine more than pure gold; will a day come when I will see you at my side?”
