21. The bird

Sung by Shulamit Rosenfeld

The tune of "The bird" was adapted from the first two sections of a Hassidic niggun (worldless vocal tune) of the Gur dynasty which was and is still sung today. It was composed by Yaakov Talmud (1886-1964), the Gur court composer. This niggun was later adopted by the Chabad Hassidim who by the early 1960s considered it as their own niggun.
