Hai vene'elam (Living and invisible)
Author: Haim Shaul Abud. The lahan was apparently brought by the author from Argentina, where he lived for many years during his youth. Musically, it is more western than the other lehanim of the Baqqashot. This is the last piyyut to be added to the repertoire of the Baqqashot, in the 1950s. The lahan divided into two sections. The first includes the first and third strophes; the second it includes the second and fourth strophes. The lahan of the first section is slow and extremely lyrical. It consists of five musical units, which do not correspond exactly to the verses of the first and third strophes. Melodic structure: a-b-c-d-e. The second section contains a faster lahan, with emphasis on rhythm and tempo. This lahan consists of two musical units, the first corresponding to the first two verses of strophe three, the second unit corresponds to verse 3. Melodic structure: a-b, sung twice.
