Eshtabeah (I shall be proud)

Author: Abraham Siton. The lahan consists of four musical units; the fourth is longer than the others, since it repeats the second part of the fourth verse. Melodic structure: a-b-c-d+. It may be pointed out that in the Ades synagogue the performance is slightly different: the second musical unit ends in a descending progression which creates a feeling of maqam Rast, whereas in the Har Tzyion synagogue the modulation at the end of the second unit is to maqam Segah. In this recording strophes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the final strophe are sung.
