Ki eshmera shabbat (For I shall keep the Sabbath)
Author: Abraham ibn Ezra. The lahan is in two sections:
1. Introduction and first two strophes. In this section the lahan is symmetrical and metrical. It consists of two musical units corresponding to the two verses of the introduction and a short unit that repeats the two last words of the second verse. Melodic structure: a-a-x. The melodic structure of the lahan of the second strophe is: a-a-a-b. Every unit corresponds to a verse of the strophe.

2. The lahan in the third, fourth and fifth strophes is constructed as follows: the first unit is performed by the cantor in a musical progression without fixed beat in an improvisatory style to the first part of the first and third verses; the second unit, whose structure is symmetrical and metrical, is sung to the second part of the first and third verse; while the third unit, which is also symmetrical and material, is sung to the second and fourth verse.
