The bride is longing for the days when she lived happily in her father's house (v. 1-2). She complains about her life in her husband's house (v. 3-4) where she can only contemplate his wealth (v. 5-6), since he himself is short and lame (v. 11). Nevertheless may God be praised for His blessing (v. 8, 12).
