Niggun of Four Sections of the Great Rabbi, R. Shneur Zalman of Lyady
"At the fifth half hour of the morning, in a Hassidic gathering on the 20th of Kislev 1903 in Lubavitch, the holy Admor ordered the playing of the niggun of four sections... and explained it so: The rabbi's niggun represents the four Kabbalistic spheres: implementation, transformation, creation, emanation, which in turn represent the four letters of God's name in Hebrew. The four letter name of God illuminates the four degrees of the soul - body, spirit, soul, life - said to be found in every Jewish being.
The Rabbi arranged the niggun in ascending order, as in that of the daily prayer service, which also follows the order of the four worlds mentioned above. Each section acts individually, introspectively, or indirectly. The niggun being with a shift in movement. It shifts from its earthly, secular surroundings to penetrate the soul in a search for a higher reality. The second section carries on from the first. In the beginning there is a taste of bitterness, immediately followed by hope and a rising movement. Bitterness and hope are the outcome of the shifting and intensity of the first section. The third section relates to the soul. The main sensation here is the elevation and outpouring of the soul. The fourth section is about the world of emanation, the highest degree of the four Kabbalistic spheres mentioned above. Although this section is also part of the ascending order, it is in fact separate from the essence of rhe third section."

This most meaningful tune is performed here without any addition arrangement. We try to sing it in a meditative state of mind (devequt) like Chabad Hassidim who sing it only on special occasions.
