Songs of longing for Jerusalem, such as this copla, used to be sung on the night of the mortaja the farewell celebration honoring the elderly travelling to Jerusalem. “I want to go, mother, to Jerusalem, to kiss its grass and live on. In Him I trust, in the King of the whole world. All my requests are fulfilled by Him.”
