33–34. Las ventanas altas + Los regalos del novio
These are two versions of a lyric song of subtle erotic overtones with a refrain of nonsense syllables. The groom addresses the bride and awaits her answer; he presents to his future wife a dress to wear after her ritual bath. “You have high windows with yellow curtains; this night I ask God that you let me come up. The ring that you wear with its diamond is mine; the jeweler (in Turkish, gaverci, kuyumci) that gave it to you is my cousin.”
