The first published score of Hava Nagila is found in Idelsohn’s songster Sefer Hashirim, published in 1922. Idelsohn makes no reference to the Sadigora niggun, but includes the following reference to the left of the title, “According to a folk melody, the harmony written by A.Z Idelsohn in the Hebrew year 5679 (9/1918-9/1919)”
