Born in Leuterhausen, Germany. Immigrated to Israel in 1939, and studied in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Moved to the US in 1952, and received a PhD in Jewish Music from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1972. Published several collections of Jewish music, and an instructional book for the recorder based on Israeli songs. Her compositions include many works with Jewish themes. In 1986 she moved to Israel where she continued her educational activities and produced the video series 'A People and its Music' about various Jewish musical traditions.
Dr. Jochsberger was a true friend of the JMRC through her long term collaboration with Dr. Edwin Seroussi in the production of Jewish music concerts and particularly in the conception of the video series 'A People and its Music.'
