Otto Klemperer's Long Journey though his Times

Otto Klemperer was one of the morst prominent conductors of the Twentieth Century and was active for a large part og the century, from its early years as a friend of Mahler's, up until the time of his death in 1973. Klemperer, as a Jew, had to leave Germany in 1933 and spent much of the rest of his life between the United States and Europe. He was known as a champion of contemporary music and supported composers such as Schoenberg and Strauss, and even composed a few works himself. This film tells his story through audio and video interviews over the backgrounds of his performances, pictures and press articles.
