The Jewish Songster‎

Hebrew title: Hamenagen.

A collection of songs edited by the Goldfarb brothers- Israel and Samuel Eliezer. This collection was part of their joint endeavor in the education of the American Jewish youth. Their songsters contained songs suited for public singing, which was asked for by the younger modern generation. This songster contains songs in English, Hebrew and Yiddish, arranged for voice and piano. Many of the songs were arranged by the brothers, and some composed by them.
The songster contains the famous song 'Shalom Aleychem,' a Zemira which achieved wide distribution in the Jewish world thanks to the musical setting of Israel Goldfarb. For further reading about 'Shalom Aleychem,' see 'Shalom Aleychem- Halahan Hamekobal Vehmalhin Hanishkah.'
