Yah ribon 'alam (Lord, master of the world), version 2

This lahan was composed by the Sephardi poet and musician of Jerusalem, Mordecai Halfon and is usually sung in the Har Tzyion synagogue to this piyyut. It consists of four musical units, each one corresponding to a verse of the strophe. Each unit is repeated twice. The third unit is divided into a melismatic performance by the solo performer and the response of the congregation. Melodic structure: a-a-b-b-c(1+2)-c(l +2)-d-d. In the recording the sound of bells from the nearby church is heard in the background.
