Halleil (Livorno)

Simone Sacerdoti, Leo Levi

A "medely" of melodies for Psalms 117-8, from the Hallel Service for the Festivals according to the Livorno tradition. It includes a well-known Livornese tune, usually applied to Lekhah dodi (Halelu et adonay kol goyim, Ps. 117 v. 1-2; Ps. 118 v. 1-4), an unidentified Italian folk song (Min hametzar, v. 5-16), two arias, one in a solemn tone (Lo amut ki ehyeh, v. 17-20) and the second more cantabile (Odekhah ki 'anitani, v. 21-24), and a chromatic Finale (Ana adonay hoshia'na v. 25).
