1. Summer is Over

Sung by Ruth Freed

"Summer is Over" was written for Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year). Yet, the song does not mention any of the holiday's customs but rather describes the transition to a new season as well as to a new grade in school, due to the close proximity between Rosh Hashana (early autumn) and the opening of the school year. The song is still sung today, usually in kindergartens and the first grades of elementary school.
