Y espera, señor (17)

Y espera, señor (17)

Alicia Bendayan (Tetuan)

In this wedding song the bride describe her preparations, such as powdering her face (v. 1-2), and dressing (v.5), reflecting her feeling at her separation from her mother (v. 3), her little brothers and her father (v. 4). She wishes to look well (v. 7) for the guests (v. 8; note the hebrew word kahal). Whoever has a good body should dance (v. 9), whoever hasn't, should look on and be still (v. 10).
