A circumcision song about the father and mother of the newborn. The father, still asleep, is awakened so that the ceremony may start (v.1-2). The guests are waiting for him (v.3-4). Better food is offered to the mothers of sons than to the mothers of daughters (v.5-8). The latter are frustrated and angry (v.9-10).
