Bernstein Remembered

Directed by Michael Liben

This film, put together by the Hebrew University looks back on Leonard Bernstein's life, career, and his connections to Judaism and to the State of Israel. The connections to the latter are deep rooted as he was a guest conducter for the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra before the creation of the state and continued to support them for the rest of his life. The film also features him conducting Mahler's 2nd symphony as well as Israel's national anthem, at the Mount Scopus amphitheater after the 1967 war.
