Alhambra

Alhambra was founded in 1981 by Dr. Issabelle Ganz with the goal to collect, transcribe, record, and perform Judeo-Spanish music. The ensemble's repertoire is comprised of arrangements based on songs they collected from informants at the Sephardic Home for the Aged in Brooklyn, as well printed collections of Judeo-Spanish repertoire.

Alhambra has toured extensively throughout Europe, North and South America.  Most notably, they have participated in the "First International Festival of Jewish Art Music" in Vilnius, the Quincentennial Celebration in Istanbul and in London's Purcell Room.  They continue to perform on major concert stages, at Universities, and Folk Festivals.
