Studied Violin, Music Theory and Composition, at the Department of Theory, the Rubin Academy, Jerusalem. M.A. Musicology, Bar-Ilan University; M.A. thesis: The Role of Traditional Music in the Wedding of Georgian Jewish Community. Teacher of violin and music theory at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem, and teacher of solfège, Palestrina-style counterpoint and musicology at Bar-Ilan University. Researcher at the JMRC since 1966. Curator at the National Sound Archives of the Jewish National and University Library (1987-2000). Researcher of Hasidic and klezmer music as well as Shirei Eretz Yisrael (Songs of the Land of Israel)
