Clarinetist and teacher. Born in Moscow, immigrated to the U.S. in 1920. Achieved high acclaim in Russia and the U.S. as a clarinetist. Established ensembles which were dedicated to Jewish music both in Russia and in the U.S. Arranged many Jewish compositions for his ensemble in New York. Bellison's archives and a collection of his instruments are housed in the Jerusalem Academy of Music in Jerusalem.
