Mazel Tov Yidden

Directed by Joseph Seiden

This film from the early 1940s presents the scenes and songs from Yiddish vaudeville and cinema. It compiles scenes from Joseph Seiden's films and presents them as a variety show, hosted by Larry Daniels and Michael Rosenberg. The clips presented are a mixture of songs and comedy routines. Many of the songs were composed by Shalom Secunda, an important composer of Yiddish songs in film and theater during the 1930s through the 1950s. There are many performers in this film and amongst them are the Burton Sisters, Leo Fuchs, Seymour Reichzeit, Menashe Skulnick performing Oy Doctor,, and Cantor Leibale Waldman who sings Kol Nidrei [this performance can also be found in the films Golden Voices of Israel and Great Cantors of the Golden Age].
