Born in New York City, USA. Studied with leading cantors of his time (Zeidel Rovner, Josef Rosenblatt, et al.) and was a popular cantor who performed in concerts and on the radio. Founded a project which consisted of commissioning various famous composers to compose music for the synagogue. A collection of his compositions was published in 1979.
