Ruth HaCohen (Pinczower) is the Artur Rubinstein Professor of Musicology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where she has held various posts, including the Head of the PhD Honors Program and the School of the Arts, and Director of the German-Israeli Martin Buber Society of Fellows.
Ph.D. in Musicology from Tel Aviv University. Chairman of the Department of Musicology at Tel Aviv University until his retirement in 1998. His chief interests are in automated, computer assisted analysis of melody. He is presently assisting in the JMRC project of cataloguing the Beregovski collection of Yiddish folk music.

Music in migrant and refugee societies. Origins of the early classical concerto. The music of the late fourteenth century in France. Currently engaged in the publication of an anthology of the liturgy of the Karaites in Israel and the United States.
