Ph.D. in Musicology from Tel Aviv University. Chairman of the Department of Musicology at Tel Aviv University until his retirement in 1998. His chief interests are in automated, computer assisted analysis of melody. He is presently assisting in the JMRC project of cataloguing the Beregovski collection of Yiddish folk music.
