Ph.D., Department of Musicology, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dissertation: Maier Levi of Esslingen: A Small-Town Hazzan in the Time of the Emancipation and his Cantorial Compendium (2001). Research interests: Historical development of Ashkenazi Liturgical Music; the influence of minhag in the development of liturgical music; culture areas of Ashkenazi nusah. Currently working on genres of South-German chant based on MS of Maier Levi for publication in the JMRC Yuval Music Series.
