Artur Holde

Born in Rendsburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Began his career in Frankfurt, as a synagogue conductor and a music critic. In 1937, he imigrated to the U.S. and settled in New York. There he worked as a choirmaster and as a music critic. His important publication is: Jews in Music: From the Age of Enlightenment to the Mid-Twentieth Century.
