Shoshana Damari - Biography

Shoshana Damari was born in Damar, Yemen in 1923. She was taken to Israel at the age of two. She started performing in an early age. She is considered as one of the greatest Israeli folk singers, and had international recognition as well. Damari worked with several known Israeli musicians among them Moshe Wilensky, Boaz Shar'abi, Matti Caspi, etc.

Avraham Daus - Biography

Israeli composer. Born in Berlin. Worked in Germany as an opera conductor. Immigrated to Israel in 1936. Worked as teacher and composer in various Kibbutzim (1940-1963). Died in Tel Aviv in 1974. His style is influenced by 20th-century musical techniques, but also incorporates elements associated with Middle Eastern music. Daus's works include chamber, vocal and orchestral pieces, songs, and some incidental music for the theater.

Efraim Di-Zahav (Goldstein) - Biography

Born in Jerusalem on January 30, 1902, His father was R. Abraham Moshe Goldstein, a cantor who immigrated to Israel from Odessa, and who was a pupil of the renowned cantor Bezalel Odesser-Schulsinger. The young Efraim studied in Heder and Yeshivas, as well as in the Ezra School in Jerusalem.
